The accident also left five others seriously injured. The vehicle was taking the ailing woman from Kaushambi to Kanpur for better medical treatment when the mishap occurred. Following the accident, the truck driver fled the scene.
The deceased, 62-year-old Ikramun Nisha, was suffering from a serious illness and was under treatment in Prayagraj. The accident occurred around 7:00 AM near Mauhar village, on the Kanpur-Prayagraj highway under Kalyanpur police jurisdiction. Dense fog and high speed caused the Bolero to crash into the back of a truck. The Bolero was completely damaged, and all passengers suffered severe injuries.
Local residents immediately informed the police, who rushed the injured to Gopalganj CHC. Doctors declared Ikramun Nisha dead on arrival, while the other injured were referred to the district hospital due to the seriousness of their conditions.
