Lakhimpur Kheri: A fatal road accident claimed the lives of three young friends in Lakhimpur Kheri district late Saturday night. Around 2 a.m., in the Bheera police station area, a speeding car struck a bike carrying three friends with tremendous force. The impact was so severe that the bike was thrown several feet away and shattered into pieces.
The victims, identified as Rohit Gupta, Hashiv, and Sandeep Shukla, all residents of Pahadiya, were returning from Palia to Kheri on a single bike. Tragically, all three succumbed to their injuries on the spot. Due to the darkness, they remained on the road for a considerable time before help could arrive.
Following the collision, the car crashed into a nearby canal. Its front portion was extensively damaged, indicating the severity of the impact. The occupants of the car fled the scene immediately, leaving the vehicle behind. The police were alerted the next morning by passersby who came across the wreckage.
Authorities are investigating the incident and trying to trace the fleeing car and its occupants. The tragic accident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of overspeeding, especially on poorly lit roads.
