
Jabalpur, MP: Two separate violent incidents in Jabalpur have left three dead and several injured, raising concerns over road safety and street violence in the city.
Car Hits Four Bikers, Two Die
In the Kundam police station area, a speeding car collided with two motorcycles on Bypass Road, leaving four friends injured. The car, registration OD 17 F 5555, lost control after the collision and rammed into a roadside tea stall.
The victims, identified as Akash Vishwakarma (28) and Deepak Mahobia (45), succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The other two injured friends remain in critical condition at the Government Medical Hospital. Kundam Station Officer Satish Andhwan confirmed that the car has been impounded and the driver arrested under relevant sections. The police have sent the deceased for post-mortem and are conducting a detailed investigation.
Youth Stabbed While Eating Street Food
In a separate incident near Civil Lines, an 18-year-old youth, Monu Jharia of Mandwa Basti, Rampur, was fatally attacked by half a dozen assailants while eating fuchka (street food) near Sangam Tent House. According to Civil Lines Station Officer Anoop Kumar Namdev, the attackers surrounded the youth and repeatedly stabbed him in the neck, back, and arms, leaving him unconscious.
Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace and apprehend the attackers. The investigation is ongoing.
Both incidents have sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting growing concerns over public safety and violent crime in Jabalpur.
