
Chhapra, Bihar: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Chhapra during the cold winter, where smoke from a room fire meant to keep a family warm proved fatal. Seven members of a single family lost consciousness due to the smoke, resulting in the death of four people, including three children. Three others are in critical condition.
The tragedy unfolded in Bharat Milap Chowk under the Bhagwan Bazar police station area. In an attempt to escape the winter chill, the family lit a fire inside a closed room. The smoke filled the room overnight, leaving the family unconscious by morning. Local residents discovered the victims and immediately alerted the police and health authorities.
All affected members were rushed to a nearby hospital with the help of locals, where doctors are treating the critically ill. The deceased include three children—Tejas, Gudiya, and Arya—and an elderly woman, Kamalavati Devi. The remaining three family members continue to be in a precarious condition.
Police have registered the incident and are investigating the circumstances of the fire, while locals mourn the tragic loss of life in the community.
