Tragic Attempted Suicide in Ranchi: Young Man Dies, Mother and Sister in Critical Condition

Ranchi: A tragic incident unfolded in New AG Colony, Mandir Marg, Ranchi, where three members of a single family attempted suicide. The young man, identified as Mihir, died after hanging himself, while his mother and sister remain in critical condition after ingesting poison.

The incident, which occurred in a residence under the Argoda police station area, has sent shockwaves through the neighborhood. Residents on both floors of the building indicated that a family dispute and stress may have led to this tragic act.

Mihir, a CA Student, Had Recently Returned from Kolkata

Mihir had recently returned from Kolkata and was pursuing Chartered Accountancy (CA) studies. Reports suggest that he had also secured a job with a corporate company. By the time neighbors and police arrived at the scene, Mihir had already passed away.

Mother and Daughter Also Poisoned

Mihir’s mother, Sneha Akhouri, a practicing lawyer at Jharkhand High Court, and his 14-year-old sister Tanya also consumed poison in a suicide attempt. Both were rushed to Guru Nanak Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Doctors have stated that their condition remains critical.

Police and FSL Investigation Underway

The Argoda police and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team immediately arrived at the scene to collect evidence and investigate the circumstances. Authorities have also questioned neighbors and residents for information. Police officials noted that the exact reasons behind the incident remain unclear, and further details are expected once the mother and daughter regain consciousness. The investigation is ongoing, with all possible angles being considered.
