
Jaipur & Sikar, Rajasthan: A day of sorrow struck Rajasthan on Sunday as two separate accidents claimed the lives of three people. In Jaipur, a young student was fatally hit by a freight train, while in Sikar, a speeding car ran over a grandmother and her granddaughter. Post-mortem examinations have been completed, and the bodies were handed over to the families by the police.
Jaipur: Student Killed by Freight Train
In Jaipur’s Mahesh Nagar area, 28-year-old Seema Mahawar, a resident of Prithvipura Tunga, lost her life after being struck by a freight train near the Arjun Nagar railway gate around 2:45 PM. Seema, who was preparing for competitive exams while residing in A-Block, had taken a shortcut across the tracks on her way home when the accident occurred.
Mahesh Nagar police officer Suresh Yadav stated that Seema was rushed to Sawai Mansingh Hospital by ambulance, where doctors declared her dead.
Sikar: Grandmother and Granddaughter Run Over
Meanwhile, in Sikar district, a high-speed car struck 70-year-old Parvati Kanwar and her 13-year-old granddaughter Ambika Kanwar from Singod Kalan village in Govindgarh while they were walking to the market to buy vegetables. Both suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.
Police reported that the driver fled the scene after the accident. Following post-mortem procedures, the bodies were handed over to the grieving families. Authorities are investigating both incidents.
