Tragic Accident in Jodhpur: Elderly Woman Killed After Car Hits Bike and Runs Her Over

Jodhpur: A devastating accident in Jodhpur claimed the life of a 62-year-old woman after a speeding car first collided with a motorbike and then ran over her. The shocking incident took place on the night of January 10 in Veer Durgadas Colony, Masuria area, around 8:30 PM. CCTV footage of the accident has now emerged, capturing the horrifying sequence of events.

Accident Details
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Bhanwari Devi, wife of Ghevarram, a resident of Veer Durgadas Colony. She was returning home from a local grocery store carrying household items when a Hyundai Eon, speeding out of control, first hit a motorbike and then struck her while she was crossing the road. She was rushed to Mathuradas Mathur Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Immediate Chaos at the Scene
Eyewitnesses said the accident caused immediate panic in the area. Locals quickly rushed to help Bhanwari Devi and transported her to the hospital. Despite doctors’ best efforts, she could not be saved.

Driver Apprehended
The victim’s nephew, Karan Sharma, filed the police report. According to the complaint, the car was driven by Narendra Prajapat, who was accompanied by his nephew at the time. Following the accident, the driver initially fled the scene to a nearby home but was apprehended by police later that night.

Family in Shock
Bhanwari Devi’s son, Mahendra, who works in Hyderabad, expressed grief over the sudden loss, noting that he was the sole earning member of a family with four daughters. The tragic incident has left the entire family in mourning. Police have registered a case and are investigating all aspects of the accident.
