Tight Security in Place for New Year Celebrations: 1,500 Police Personnel to Be Deployed Across Faridabad

Faridabad, December 29 — With New Year celebrations approaching, the Faridabad Police have finalized extensive security arrangements to ensure peace, safety, and smooth conduct of festivities across the city. The administration has issued strict guidelines and warned that any violation of law and order will invite stern legal action.

Police Commissioner officials have made it clear that hooliganism, unruly behavior, or any form of lawlessness will not be tolerated, irrespective of the individual involved. All police stations, outposts, and crime branch units have been instructed to remain on high alert throughout the celebrations.

According to police spokesperson Yashpal, more than 1,500 police personnel and officers will be deployed district-wide on the night of December 31. Senior officers, including DCPs and ACPs, will personally patrol their respective jurisdictions to monitor law and order. Special deployment has also been planned for traffic management, with the DCP Traffic, ACP Traffic, and traffic station officers overseeing road safety and congestion control.

To prevent traffic chaos and accidents, nearly 500 traffic police personnel will be on duty. Police teams, including ERVs, PCR vans, rider teams, and naka (checkpoint) units, will conduct intensive checking across all city zones. Particular focus will be placed on drunk driving, which poses a higher risk of accidents during celebrations. Strict action will also be taken against illegal liquor sale and smuggling.

In addition, crime branch and police station teams in plain clothes will be deployed at sensitive locations to keep a discreet watch on criminal activities. To ensure women’s safety, police stations will form special teams including women police personnel to prevent incidents such as harassment, snatching, or misbehavior at public gatherings and celebration venues.

Meanwhile, the District Excise Department has also stepped up preparations. Keeping in view the large crowds expected at clubs, bars, restaurants, and public venues, the department has constituted five special enforcement teams. These teams will work in coordination with the police and district administration to maintain discipline and ensure compliance with excise laws during New Year events.

The authorities have appealed to citizens to celebrate responsibly and cooperate with the administration, emphasizing that public safety remains the top priority as the city welcomes the New Year.
