
Etah, Uttar Pradesh – February 7, 2026: In a tragic road accident in Etah district, three young men lost their lives while two others sustained serious injuries. The victims were traveling from Gurugram, Haryana, to Mainpuri to attend a wedding ceremony.
The accident occurred early Saturday morning in the Malawan police station area. According to police reports, five passengers were traveling in a private cab to the village of Ghanespur in Kurawali, Mainpuri, when the driver lost control of the vehicle at a sharp bend near Bawli Canal on Sukhet Road. The car, moving at high speed, first hit a tree before overturning three times and finally falling approximately 15 feet into a roadside ditch.
Eyewitnesses rushed to the scene after hearing cries for help. It took considerable effort to break open the car doors and rescue the injured passengers. Malawan SHO RK Singh confirmed that three individuals died on the spot, while two others were critically injured and admitted to Veerangana Avantibai Medical College, Etah.
The deceased have been identified as Shivam Yadav (21), Sunil Yadav (23), and Manki (19), all residents of Mainpuri. The injured, Rahul (28) and Khushboo (22), are currently receiving treatment.
The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and have informed the families. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident was caused by overspeeding, resulting in the driver losing control on a dangerous bend. Photos and videos of the accident have surfaced, highlighting the severity of the incident.
Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution on winding roads, especially in hilly or canal-adjacent areas, to prevent similar tragedies.
