Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh: A worrying incident unfolded at the Eklavya School hostel in Rampur Chapar when three students went missing on Monday night. The students, aged 14–15, hail from Balaghat and Seoni districts and were studying in the 8th and 9th grades. Following the incident, their families rushed to Jabalpur and lodged a complaint with the Gorakhpur Police Station, prompting an immediate search.
CCTV footage from the school premises revealed that the students had scaled a wall and left the hostel on their own. Police confirmed that the students appeared to have run away voluntarily, although the exact reasons for their departure will be clear only once they are located.
The parents alleged that the police initially delayed filing the complaint, and only after intervention by the SDM was the report officially registered. This is not the first incident of students leaving the Eklavya hostel, raising concerns about the security and monitoring of hostels managed by the Tribal Development Department. Police have launched an investigation and a search operation to locate the missing students.
