Three Security Guards Die in Badaun Mentha Factory; Likely Suffocation After Using Fire Stove Indoors

Badaun, UP: A shocking incident unfolded at a mentha factory in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, as three security guards were found dead, sparking panic and unrest in the area. The tragedy reportedly occurred when the guards slept in a closed room while burning a fire stove, leading to suspected suffocation.

The victims have been identified as Jugendra Yadav (30) son of Rambahadur of Basabanpur, Bhanu Yadav (26) son of Shripal of Mudsaina, and Vivek Yadav. Factory employees discovered the guards in an unconscious state in the morning and immediately rushed them to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead.

Locals and villagers gathered in large numbers upon hearing the news, creating a tense atmosphere around the factory premises. Police and forensic teams arrived promptly to investigate the circumstances of the deaths. Preliminary reports indicate that the guards’ deaths were due to suffocation, with no external injuries found on their bodies.

This is not the first fatal incident at this mentha factory. Approximately eight months ago, a fire at the facility claimed the life of a worker and caused financial losses estimated at around ₹100 crore. The factory, located in Kura Narsinghpur and under lien to Bank of Baroda, has once again come under scrutiny due to safety concerns.

While some family members of the deceased have alleged foul play, authorities are currently focusing on the possibility of accidental death caused by inhalation of smoke or fumes from the indoor stove. Police investigations are ongoing, and forensic teams are conducting a detailed examination of the site.

The incident has reignited questions about safety standards and monitoring at the factory, with locals demanding accountability and urgent measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
