Three Devotees Killed, 11 Injured as Bolero Carrying Pilgrims to Ayodhya Collides with Tractor-Trolley

Ayodhya: A tragic road accident on the Ayodhya–Prayagraj Highway claimed the lives of three devotees and left 11 others seriously injured early Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. near Kalyan Bhadarsa village in the Purakalandar police station area, when a Bolero carrying pilgrims to Ayodhya rammed into a tractor-trolley.

Police rushed to the spot upon receiving information and, with the help of local villagers, rescued the injured passengers. All 11 injured individuals were immediately transported to the district hospital for treatment. Doctors stated that the condition of several victims remains critical.

CM Yogi Takes Cognizance

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and directed officials to accelerate relief efforts. He instructed the administration to ensure proper and prompt medical care for all the injured.

Police have seized both the Bolero and the tractor-trolley, and an investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.

Victims Identified

The injured have been identified as:

  • Chitrasen Patel (45)
  • Chandrakali Patel (44)
  • Shashi Patel (34)
  • Kumkum Patel (32)
  • Deepak Patel (25)
  • Tanuja Patel (20)
  • Shivansh (03)
  • Ashish Patel

The Bolero driver, Ram Yash Mishra (50), died on the spot. Two other deceased were identified as:

  • Meerabai (50)
  • Ankita (25)

The crushed vehicle had to be forcibly opened by breaking the door to rescue those trapped inside. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Pilgrims Were Travelling from Rewa

According to police, all the devotees were travelling from Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh to Ayodhya for the darshan of Ram Lalla. The sudden and severe collision created panic in the area, prompting a widespread emergency response.

The incident has left the entire locality and the hospital in deep grief.

  • February: Four Maharashtra pilgrims killed, 13 injured in a bus-tempo collision.
  • April: One dead, five injured in a dumper-truck collision near Lata Mangeshkar Chowk.
  • October: 25-year-old youth killed in a road accident in Kumarganj.
  • December: Two people killed in separate accidents on the Ayodhya–Rae Bareli Highway.
  • December 9: An elderly man died after a bike collision.
