Three Criminals Arrested in Muzaffarpur for Killing Two-and-a-Half-Year-Old Child in Road Rage Incident

In a major breakthrough, Muzaffarpur police have arrested three hardened criminals involved in the brutal killing of a two-and-a-half-year-old child during a road rage incident that took place last year in Samastipur district.

The accused were apprehended late at night during a vehicle checking drive near Station Road by the Town Police Station team. The trio was travelling in a car when they attempted to flee after being signaled to stop, but were swiftly overpowered by alert police personnel.

Large Quantity of Stolen Property Recovered

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammad Uwais Khan of Akhtiyarpur Chandauli under Vaini police station, Mohammad Imran of Shahpur Baghoni, and Mohammad Danish Hussain of Salha Barbatta under Sarairanjan police station — all residents of Samastipur district.

Police recovered a large quantity of stolen brass items, burglary tools, cash, and liquor from their possession. The seized items include brass buckets, ritual pots, plates, bowls, glasses, locks, lock-breaking equipment, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, chisels, and ₹4,000 in cash.

Arrest Made During Night Patrol

Addressing a press conference, City SP Mohibullah Ansari said that during routine night patrolling on Station Road, police noticed a white car bearing a Delhi registration number. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle for checking, the occupants abandoned the car and tried to escape, but were immediately caught.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in multiple theft cases and revealed their role in a road rage firing incident on September 24, 2025, in Ahar village under Tajpur police station area of Samastipur district.

Child Killed in Firing Incident

According to police, the accused opened fire following a minor road dispute, during which two-and-a-half-year-old Mohammad Arib was hit by a bullet and died on the spot. The incident had triggered widespread outrage, and the accused had been absconding since then.

Police confirmed that Mohammad Imran and Mohammad Danish Hussain had criminal antecedents and were wanted in the child murder case. Information regarding their arrest has been shared with Tajpur police station for further legal proceedings.

The third accused, Mohammad Uwais Khan, is also facing a prior case related to attempt to murder, officials said.

Linked to Inter-District Crime Network

Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused may be part of an inter-district theft gang, actively involved in burglaries across multiple districts. Further interrogation is underway to identify additional associates and recover more stolen property.

The arrest has brought a sense of relief to the victim’s family and marked a significant step toward justice in one of the most tragic road rage cases reported in the region.
