One woman from the same incident remains in critical condition.

The Deadly Sweet Package
The tragedy began when an unclaimed bag of sweets was left at a local hotel. Dashru Yaduvanshi reportedly retrieved sweets from the bag and shared them with Sundarlal, his wife Santoshi Bai, and granddaughter Khushbu. Soon after consuming the sweets, all four began experiencing severe vomiting, diarrhea, and weakness, and were rushed to the hospital.

Family Suspects Foul Play
Khushbu’s sister, Muskaan Khare, told reporters that the family had ongoing disputes with her in-laws, which is why Khushbu had been living at her parental home for the past month. The family suspects that the sweets may have been deliberately left to harm them.

Police Investigation Underway
Junnardeo Police Station In-Charge Rakesh Baghel confirmed that investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel and surrounding areas to identify the individual who left the sweets. Authorities say the case will be resolved once sufficient evidence is collected.

Medical Analysis Pending
Block Medical Officer Dr. Suresh Nagwanshi stated that confirmation of the exact cause of death will be possible only after the food samples and post-mortem reports of the three deceased are analyzed. While preliminary investigations suggest food poisoning, authorities are also checking whether any toxic substances were deliberately added to the sweets.

Public Fear Grows
