Thief Trapped in Exhaust Fan Hole During Attempted Burglary in Kota, One Arrested

In a bizarre turn of events, a thief got stuck in an exhaust fan hole while attempting to burglarize a house in Kota’s Borakheda area. Thanks to the vigilance of the homeowners, one of the culprits was apprehended, while his accomplice managed to escape. Authorities believe the incident highlights both divine protection and alert citizenry.

The Incident

On the night of January 4, around 12:50 AM, two thieves arrived in a car in Pratap Nagar. Believing the house to be unoccupied, they attempted to break in. One of the thieves tried to enter the kitchen through the exhaust fan hole, but got halfway stuck, unable to free himself.

Meanwhile, the homeowners, Subhash Ahir and his wife, returned after visiting Khatu Shyamji’s temple around 1:00 AM. As they unlocked the main gate and entered, they heard strange noises from the kitchen. Investigating further, they were shocked to find the thief trapped in the fan hole.

Capture and Response

Alerted by the homeowners, local residents gathered, and the police were informed. After nearly an hour of effort, the thief was carefully extricated from the exhaust fan hole and handed over to the authorities. The second thief managed to flee the scene.

Arrest and Seizure

Acting on Subhash Ahir’s complaint, Borakheda Police registered a case and arrested the trapped thief, identified as Pawan Vaishnav (25). He hails from Digod village, Mahavir/Halola Mohalla, Kota district and was residing in Vrindavan Vihar, Kunhari area at the time of the incident. The police also recovered the car used in the attempted burglary, which had a white curtain and a police sticker affixed to it.

Investigation Ongoing

Police Superintendent Tejaswani Gautam confirmed that Pawan Vaishnav is being interrogated regarding other thefts he may be involved in. Meanwhile, the search for the escaped accomplice continues.

This extraordinary incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and quick response in preventing crime, and, as the homeowners jokingly noted, the blessing of Khatu Shyam may have played a role in foiling the burglary.
