
Mumbai: Panic erupted in the Kismat Nagar area of Kurla West on Thursday evening as a massive fire engulfed a warehouse, sending thick plumes of smoke billowing across the sky. The smoke spread to surrounding neighborhoods, visible from a distance, prompting an immediate response from the Mumbai Fire Brigade.
Several fire trucks rushed to the scene, and teams worked relentlessly to control the blaze. According to fire officials, the fire was spreading rapidly. The teams quickly launched strategic cooling and containment operations to prevent the flames from reaching nearby buildings and shops. Despite the intensity of the fire, there have been no reports of injuries so far.
Cause of Fire Still Unknown
Authorities stated that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Investigations are ongoing, and detailed information is awaited. Local administration has advised residents to stay clear of the affected areas until the fire is fully controlled. Officials have said that a comprehensive assessment of the cause and extent of damage will be conducted once the debris cools down.
Recent Fires in the Region
This comes just three days after a major fire broke out at the Shri Rajlaxmi Commercial Complex in Kalher, Bhiwandi, Thane district, on Tuesday night. Fire Officer Bapu Sonawane reported that they were alerted around 8 PM and immediately dispatched teams to the scene. Upon arrival, the fire had spread fiercely on the second floor. Due to the proximity of residential areas, residents were promptly evacuated to safety. The fire brigade successfully contained and extinguished the blaze.
