Terror Module Linked to Pakistani Handlers Busted in Punjab, 10 Arrested

Chandigarh: In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police have uncovered a Pakistan-backed grenade attack module in Ludhiana. The operation led to the arrest of 10 key operatives who were reportedly in contact with handlers based abroad. The state police chief (DGP) confirmed this major success on his official Twitter handle.

Plot to Disturb Punjab’s Peace
Preliminary investigations reveal that the arrested suspects were communicating with handlers located in Pakistan through three operatives based in Malaysia. These handlers had tasked the operatives with picking up and delivering hand grenades with the intent of carrying out an attack in a crowded area to create unrest in the state.

DGP Confirms Details
The Punjab DGP tweeted that the Ludhiana Commissionerate has successfully busted an ISI-Pakistan-supported grenade attack module and arrested 10 operatives linked to foreign handlers. Early investigations indicate that the suspects coordinated the pickup and delivery of hand grenades via three operators in Malaysia. The handlers intended to spread instability by targeting populated areas in Punjab.

Earlier Police Operations
Earlier, on Wednesday, the Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in collaboration with Batala Police, carried out a major operation to arrest Gurlav Singh alias Lov Randhawa, an active member of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. He was found in possession of two modern pistols, three magazines, and sixteen live cartridges.

Initial questioning revealed that Gurlav Singh was acting under the guidance of his overseas handler, Amrit Dalm, who directed him to participate in criminal activities. Gurlav has a history of criminal offenses, including violations of the Arms Act, theft, and burglary.

This coordinated police action underscores Punjab Police’s continued vigilance against terror and organized crime in the state.
