Katni, Madhya Pradesh: In a shocking incident in Katni district, a 20-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his minor fiancée after she discovered a photo of another girl on his mobile phone. The gruesome act took place in Khamharia village under the Rehti police station area, leaving the local community stunned.
Murder Over Mobile Photo
The victim, identified as Sunil Adivasi, had visited his fiancée’s village to meet her on Wednesday night. According to police, during the meeting, the minor fiancée checked Sunil’s mobile phone and saw a photo of another girl. A heated argument ensued, and in a fit of rage, she allegedly strangled Sunil using an electric wire. The victim died on the spot from asphyxiation.
Attempt to Conceal Crime
After the murder, the accused reportedly tried to dispose of the body. Sunil’s lifeless body was found the next morning near the village. Police noted marks on his neck and injuries on his body, which indicated foul play. During questioning, the minor fiancée initially gave conflicting statements but later admitted to the crime.
Legal Proceedings
Additional SP Santosh Deharia confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody and presented before the Juvenile Justice Court. The electric wire used in the murder has been seized as evidence. Authorities are continuing the investigation into the incident.
