Teen Dies After Grabbing Live Transformer Wire; Shocking CCTV Footage Emerges From Baghpat

A chilling incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district has surfaced, where an 18-year-old youth died after coming in contact with a high-voltage transformer wire. The horrifying act was captured on CCTV, and the footage has since gone viral on social media.

The incident took place on Gandhi Road in Badaut town. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Tarun Saini (18), son of Ramgopal Saini. The circulating CCTV clip, approximately 1 minute and 16 seconds long, shows Tarun walking near the transformer while looking at his mobile phone. Moments later, he puts the phone into his pocket, climbs onto the transformer platform, and grabs a live wire.

The instant he touches the wire, a loud burst of sparks erupts, engulfing both the cables and Tarun’s body in flames. Within seconds, he collapses and remains hanging from the wires, severely burnt. The visuals have left locals deeply shaken.

Authorities stated that Tarun died on the spot due to the high-voltage electric shock. His charred body remained entangled in the wires for several minutes until police, along with power department workers, reached the site. The electricity supply was cut off before the body was carefully removed and sent for postmortem.

Family members told the police they are unaware of any reason that might have led Tarun to take such an extreme step. Police officials have begun a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances behind the incident, examining all possible angles.
