Teen Brutally Beaten Over Mobile Theft Suspicion in Hapur; Three Arrested

Hapur, UP: In a shocking case of mob violence, a young man in Hapur was brutally assaulted on suspicion of mobile phone theft. The victim was taken to a forested area, forced into a “murga” position, and beaten with bricks placed on his back and cane sticks. The entire incident was recorded on video and circulated widely on social media.

Incident Details

The assault reportedly took place in a forest near Modinagar Road. According to reports, three men suspected the youth of stealing a mobile phone. They restrained him, dragged him into the forest, and subjected him to severe physical torture. The victim was held and beaten for a prolonged period until some bystanders intervened to rescue him.

Police Action

Following the viral circulation of the video, Hapur police immediately swung into action. The victim was admitted to a hospital for treatment. Based on his complaint, a formal case has been registered, and investigations are underway.

Three accused—Amit, Bobby, and Vishal (alias Shooter), residents of Adarsh Nagar—have been arrested. Police have assured strict action and warned that no accused will be spared.

Authorities’ Statement

Station Officer Vinod Pandey stated that such acts of mob violence will not be tolerated, and the police are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
