Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh):A chilling case of filicide has shocked Nagmala Mavasi village in Makkhanpur area of Firozabad, where a man allegedly murdered his 12-year-old son with a sharp weapon, concealed the body inside a trunk, and fled the scene. Police have launched a manhunt to trace the accused father.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Rajesh Kumar, while the victim was his minor son Mayank. Rajesh’s wife, Urmila Sargava, is a schoolteacher.
Horror Unfolds After Mother Returns from School
On Monday morning, Urmila left for school as usual. When she returned home later in the day, she was horrified to find blood splattered across the house. Alarmed, she raised an outcry, drawing neighbours to the spot.
Locals noticed blood oozing from a trunk kept inside the house. When it was opened, Mayank’s lifeless body was found inside. He had suffered fatal injuries inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon. Police were immediately informed.
Child Tried to Escape, Police Say
Preliminary investigation suggests that the child put up a desperate fight to save his life. Police officials said Mayank ran through different parts of the house—including the room, kitchen and staircase—while being attacked. Bloodstains found throughout the house corroborate this struggle.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and senior police officials reached the spot to supervise the investigation.
Crime Planned, Says Police
Police believe the murder was pre-planned. On the day of the incident, Rajesh did not report to his factory job. Investigators said his plan initially faced a change as his daughter Mahima had returned from her maternal home. He allegedly waited until Mahima left for tuition around 2 pm, ensuring that Mayank was alone, before carrying out the attack using a sickle-like weapon.
After committing the crime, Rajesh allegedly hid the body in a trunk and fled.
Hunt On for Accused Father
A case has been registered, and multiple police teams have been formed to trace and arrest the absconding accused. Officials said all possible angles, including family disputes and psychological factors, are being examined.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the village, leaving residents stunned by the brutality of the crime and the betrayal of trust within a family.
