Mathura (Vrindavan):
Vrindavan, the sacred land of devotion and renunciation, continues to draw spiritual seekers from across India and abroad. In this divine atmosphere, renowned spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj was recently visited by senior saints of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sampradaya from Pune, marking a deeply devotional and emotionally charged spiritual interaction.
The visiting saints, associated with the globally respected BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, met Premanand Maharaj and engaged in meaningful spiritual dialogue. The Swaminarayan Sampradaya is widely known for its disciplined way of life, monumental temple architecture, and commitment to social reform. In Pune, the organization has a strong presence and actively works to instill values and promote Sanatan Dharma among the youth.
A Devotional Offering and a Soulful Moment
During the meeting, the Swaminarayan saints presented a harmonium as a sacred offering for Shri Ji. As Premanand Maharaj gently placed his fingers on the keys, he played the notes Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni, Sa, filling the surroundings with divine resonance. Following this, a saint from the Swaminarayan tradition rendered a devotional kirtan, creating an atmosphere charged with bhakti. Premanand Maharaj appeared visibly moved, reflecting the deep spiritual connection of the moment.
“Naam Jap Is Supreme,” Says Premanand Maharaj
Addressing the gathering after the kirtan, Premanand Maharaj emphasized the supremacy of Naam Jap (chanting of the divine name). He stated that constant contemplation and remembrance of the name given by the Guru is the true measure of successful spiritual practice.
“If uninterrupted remembrance continues, Lord Narayan remains with the seeker,” he said. “A true sadhu or Vaishnav is one who does not abandon the remembrance of God even for half a moment. Beyond auspicious and inauspicious, the essence of life is Bhagavat Chintan alone.”
Echoing this philosophy, a saint from Pune remarked, “Neither chains of iron nor chains of gold bind us — Maharaj, this is what you teach.” To this, Premanand Maharaj firmly responded, “Naam Jap alone is supreme.”
The meeting stood as a powerful example of unity among spiritual traditions and reinforced the timeless message that devotion, remembrance, and service form the foundation of true spiritual life.
