Suspicious Youth Apprehended Near India-Pakistan Border Identified as UP Resident Pankaj Kashyap

Jaisalmer: Security agencies were put on alert after a suspicious youth was apprehended near the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan. During a routine patrol in the 192 RD canal area, the 38th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) detained a young man exhibiting unusual behavior. He was later handed over to the local PTM police station for further investigation.

Identity Revealed During Interrogation

The youth identified himself as Pankaj Kashyap, 21, from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. According to BSF officials, he was found wandering in the border area without a valid reason, prompting his detention. Initial inquiries by the BSF were completed before transferring him to the police for detailed questioning.

No Suspicious Findings in JIC Interrogation

A Joint Interrogation Committee (JIC) conducted an in-depth probe after the youth was handed over to the police three days ago. Jaisalmer Police Superintendent Abhishek Shivhare confirmed that the investigation revealed no suspicious activity or evidence linking him to any unlawful acts.

Mental Health Concerns

Further inquiries revealed that the youth is mentally unwell. His family has been informed and is expected to arrive in Jaisalmer shortly. Police have stated that necessary measures will be taken once the family reaches the site.

Authorities remain vigilant along the sensitive border region following this incident, closely monitoring the situation to ensure security.
