
Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan: Panic ensued in the Padampur area of Sri Ganganagar, a border district of Rajasthan, after a suspicious balloon was found near a rural settlement. The incident occurred in the 30 LNP area under Ghamurdwali police jurisdiction, where farmers working in the fields spotted the unusual object and immediately alerted authorities.
Police Respond Swiftly
On receiving the alert, Ghamurdwali police promptly reached the site and secured the surrounding area. A preliminary investigation was launched, treating the balloon as potentially suspicious. Officers ensured the safety of locals while examining the object.
Airplane-Shaped Balloon with Crescent-Star and ‘PIA’ Inscription
The recovered balloon is reportedly white and green and shaped like an airplane. Notably, it bears a crescent and star emblem, along with the letters ‘PIA’ written in Urdu. These markings have raised concerns, prompting police to conduct a detailed inquiry.
Balloon Seized, Investigation Underway
ASI Shyopat Singh, present at the scene, stated that the balloon was seized as a precautionary measure to eliminate any potential risk. “It is too early to draw conclusions about its origin or purpose. Coordination with relevant agencies is ongoing,” he said. The police confirmed that the investigation is active, and further information will be released once findings are verified. Meanwhile, the area remains calm, and authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
