Suspicious Balloon Bearing ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ Slogan Found in Samba; Security Agencies on High Alert

Samba (J&K), January 9, 2026: A suspicious balloon carrying the slogan “Pakistan Zindabad” in Urdu was found in a field in Khanpur village, Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir, triggering heightened vigilance among security agencies.

According to local reports, residents spotted an armed individual in the area around the same time. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin, purpose, and nature of the balloon.

Samba district, part of the Jammu division, lies approximately 17–20 km from the India-Pakistan International Border, with its southern boundary directly adjoining Pakistan.

Police on Alert in Ramgarh
The balloon was recovered from a field in Ramgarh area of Khanpur village on Thursday. Local residents immediately alerted the Ramgarh police, who took the balloon into custody. The police stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain its exact purpose.

Following reports of a suspicious armed person in the vicinity, security forces have launched search operations in Samba district. Residents have been advised to remain vigilant and report any unusual objects or activity immediately.

Meanwhile, a separate search operation has resumed in the forests of Kathua district to track down militants reportedly hiding there. Security forces across Jammu and Kashmir remain on high alert, particularly following last year’s terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are investigating all possible leads related to the balloon and the reported sighting of the armed individual.
