Suspected Death of Woman in Lucknow: Body Found Partially Undressed by Roadside, Police Investigating

Lucknow: In a shocking incident on Friday morning, the partially unclothed body of a woman was found lying by the roadside in the Banthra area of Lucknow, causing panic among local residents. The body was discovered near Amawa village along the Narayanpur–Behta road. The deceased is estimated to be around 50 years old, though her identity has not yet been confirmed.

According to reports, locals who spotted the body immediately alerted the police. Banthra police reached the scene, secured the area, and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

The police received the information around 9 a.m. on Friday. On arriving at the scene, they questioned nearby residents, but none could identify the woman. Initial investigations suggest that the woman may have survived by begging.

A bag found at the site contained liquor pouches, bidis, and some clothing. Police are using these items as leads to ascertain her identity and residence.

A forensic team was also called to the scene and collected evidence necessary for the investigation. Preliminary observations indicate the possibility that the woman may have been hit by an unknown vehicle. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report is released.

Banthra police officials stated that inquiries are ongoing in nearby areas, and efforts to identify the woman continue.
