
Faridabad: Preparations for the Surajkund International Crafts Mela are now complete, and the public can look forward to enjoying the fair in just two days. This year, the administration has made special arrangements to ensure a seamless experience for visitors.
The much-awaited Surajkund International Crafts Mela will be held from January 31 to February 15, 2026. So far, over 35 countries have confirmed participation, and confirmations from more than 10 additional countries are expected in the next few days. This year, Uttar Pradesh and Meghalaya have been designated as the theme states, while Egypt is the partner country. The North Eastern states will participate as cultural partners.
Fairground Takes Shape
As the partner country, Egypt will send a large delegation of artists and craftsmen to the fair. In total, artists and artisans from over 45 countries are expected to participate. Work to prepare and beautify the fairground is in its final stages. According to Harvinder Yadav, the Nodal Officer for the fair, arrangements are being completed meticulously to ensure a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
Ban on Begging
Children begging at the fair will not be tolerated this year. The fair management has issued strict instructions to safeguard children’s rights, following guidelines from the Haryana State Child Rights Protection Commission, Panchkula. Any child found begging in or around the fairground will be dealt with according to the directives.
Transport Facilities
To facilitate visitors, buses will operate from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with a total of 20 buses running to ensure smooth transportation. In addition, shuttle minibuses will connect the fairground to Badkhal Metro Station from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, allowing visitors convenient travel to and from the venue.
Ticket Information
Visitors can expect tickets priced between ₹120 to ₹150 on weekdays. Weekend tickets will be slightly higher, ranging from ₹150 to ₹200. Children below 5 years of age can enter for free, while tickets for children aged 5 years and above will cost between ₹60 to ₹100. Please note that rides and attractions inside the fairground require separate tickets.
