Sultanpur Property Fraud: Woman Falsely Claims Stepson as Deceased Son to Seize Property, Case Registered

In a shocking case of alleged fraud in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a woman has accused parties of attempting to seize her deceased son’s property using forged documents. The case has been taken seriously by the authorities, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Kotwali Nagar under multiple sections, following the orders of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM).

According to the complaint, Rukmani Devi, a resident of Mangapur Sarkouda in the Kudarwar police station area, is the sole legal heir of her late son Anil Singh, who inherited his father’s ancestral property after the death of Surya Baksh Singh around 35 years ago. Anil Singh, who was married to Shashi Singh from Indore, had divorced her around 26 years ago and had no children.

Allegedly, after the divorce, Shashi Singh was married off to Ram Singh, a relative from Narsara village, by another local named Rajdev Singh. Shashi and Ram Singh have two sons, Shubham Singh and Sumit Singh, who currently live with their parents in Narsara.

Two years ago, Anil Singh passed away, leaving Rukmani Devi as the sole legal heir. The complaint alleges that Rajdev Singh, Rajendra Singh (resident of Pura Hanumant Grant, Kudarwar), and Jag Vishal Singh (resident of Pura Manga, Kudarwar) conspired with Shashi Singh and Ram Singh to seize Anil Singh’s property.

The accused allegedly submitted an application to the Tehsil, claiming that Shubham Singh is Anil Singh’s son, despite educational certificates, family registers, and village-issued documents clearly showing his father as Ram Singh. Rukmani Devi alleged that on December 12, 2022, Shubham Singh’s Aadhaar card was illegally altered, changing his father’s name from Ram Singh to Anil Singh in an attempt to fraudulently claim the property.

Further, the victim stated that on November 11, 2024, when she and her daughter Nand Kishori Singh went to pursue the property verification case, the accused verbally abused them and threatened their lives, pressuring them to withdraw the case.

Acting on the CJM’s directive, Kotwali Nagar police have registered a case under sections related to fraud, forgery, and criminal intimidation and have initiated a formal investigation.
