In a serious incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi district, students of the Kasturba Gandhi Residential School have levelled grave allegations of harassment against two teachers, prompting a protest and road blockade by parents.
Students Allege Caste-Based Abuse and Mental Harassment
According to the students, teacher Neetu Srivastava routinely subjected them to caste-based slurs and threatened to have their names removed from the school roster. They alleged that mental harassment had become a frequent ordeal inside the residential school.
Rahil Baudh, a guardian of one of the students, submitted a written complaint at the local police station. Parents gathered in large numbers at the station and later blocked the road, demanding immediate action against the accused teachers.
Accusations of Provoking Students to Fight
Students further claimed that both teachers would instigate other girls to abuse or physically assault them, disrupting their education and creating a hostile environment.
They alleged that the teachers were engaged in a personal dispute with the school principal and were taking out their anger on the students.
Officials Rush to Pacify Protesters
Block Education Officer Shailendra Shukla and Station House Officer Vivek Verma, along with Vikramaditya Tiwari, reached the spot to calm the agitated parents and restore order.
Inquiry Ordered, FIR to Be Filed
Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Sanjay Tiwari stated that a detailed inquiry has been ordered into the matter.
“All aspects of the case will be investigated thoroughly. Based on the complaint filed by the guardians, an FIR will be registered,” he confirmed.
The incident has sparked concerns about the safety and emotional well-being of students in government-run residential schools, with parents demanding strict action and immediate reforms.
