STET Candidates Protest Outside Bihar Board Office in Patna Over Pending Demands

Patna, Bihar: STET (Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test) candidates in Patna staged a protest outside the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) office on Thursday, demanding resolution of their pending issues. Around 40-50 candidates, led by student leader Saurabh, gathered to raise slogans and sit on a dharna, urging the authorities to take immediate action.

The protesters’ key demands include the release of a revised answer key and the provision of grace marks for 21 questions that were allegedly outside the prescribed syllabus. According to the candidates, these out-of-syllabus questions severely affected their scores, while the existing answer key contains several critical errors, putting the results of thousands of candidates at risk.

Allegations of Out-of-Syllabus Questions
Candidates alleged that approximately 21 questions in the exam were completely outside the approved syllabus, negatively impacting their performance. They warned that if the BSEB does not address their grievances fairly, both the transparency and credibility of the examination could be questioned.

Candidates Express Frustration
Student leader Saurabh expressed disappointment over the lack of responsiveness from the board officials. “STET candidates’ complaints are being ignored. We are protesting to demand a revised answer key and other pending issues, but the board officials are not taking this matter seriously. They only give assurances, while the problems remain unresolved,” he said.

Earlier, in November, STET candidates had also staged a sit-in at the Bihar Board office. As of now, the BSEB has not issued any official response regarding the current protest. Candidates have warned that if their demands are not met, they may escalate their agitation further.
