State Minister Cracks Down on Illegal Mining in Rajgarh; JCBs Seized, Officials Ordered to Take Strict Action

Rajgarh: In a strong display of administrative action, Madhya Pradesh State Minister Narayan Singh Panwar caught illegal mining operations red-handed along the banks of the Parvati River during a routine field visit. The sudden arrival of the minister created panic among the mining mafia. Two JCB machines involved in unauthorized excavation were immediately seized, and strict action was ordered against the perpetrators.

Minister Panwar, who oversees the Fisheries and Fish Welfare Department, was traveling through Semlapar village in Rajgarh district when he spotted the ongoing illegal mining activities. Accompanied by his team, he quickly intervened, taking control of the JCB machines and informing Rajgarh Collector Girish Kumar Mishra and SP Amit Kumar Tolani to ensure prompt administrative action.

Upon the minister’s arrival, the operators of the machines attempted to flee, highlighting the audacity of the local mining mafia. Panwar noted that despite previous instructions given to the district administration during a recent meeting, illegal mining had continued unabated.

“The illegal excavation was taking place along a stretch of approximately one kilometer near the Parvati River bridge, posing a serious risk to the structure and threatening connectivity for hundreds of nearby villages,” Minister Panwar said. During the inspection, the name of Sonu, son of Mangu Puri from Kanarkhedi, surfaced as a key player in the mining operation.

Following the minister’s intervention, the Suthalia police registered a case against the illegal mining operators. Additionally, a local patwari was suspended for failing to prevent the unlawful activity.

Residents and local observers have praised the minister’s decisive action, seeing it as a firm stand against illegal exploitation and a warning to others engaged in unauthorized activities along the riverbanks.
