Harda:
Harda District Hospital has achieved a significant medical milestone by successfully performing advanced, minimally invasive surgeries, offering big-city healthcare facilities at the district level. In a major breakthrough, doctors treated a piles patient using a stapler gun technique without any incision or stitches, while another complex surgery involved the successful removal of a two-kilogram tumour from a woman’s uterus.
Piles Surgery Without Pain or Long Recovery
A team comprising Dr. Sandeep Ivne, Dr. Gambhir Patel, and anaesthetist Dr. Kapil Patel carried out the procedures. Dr. Ivne said a 40-year-old patient, Rajendra, had been suffering from piles for the past six months. He was operated on using a modern surgical stapler gun, a technique that avoids cutting and stitching.
“The stapler surgery causes minimal bleeding, significantly reduces pain, and ensures faster recovery. The patient can be discharged within two days, whereas earlier such cases required up to 10 days of hospitalisation,” Dr. Ivne explained.
The stapler gun used for the procedure costs around ₹30,000, and in private hospitals in metro cities, the same surgery can cost ₹50,000 or more. However, at Harda District Hospital, the treatment was provided free of cost, making advanced healthcare accessible to common citizens.
What Is Stapler Surgery?
Surgical stapler technology is a modern method in which piles are treated without traditional cuts or sutures. This results in less blood loss, reduced post-operative pain, and faster healing, allowing patients to return to normal life quickly.
Major Relief for Local Patients
Until now, patients from the district had to travel to cities like Indore or Bhopal for such procedures, incurring heavy expenses. With these facilities now available locally, patients save both time and money.
Successful Removal of 2-Kg Uterine Tumour
In another remarkable surgery, doctors removed a two-kilogram fibroid (uterine tumour) from a woman who had been suffering for nearly a year. Dr. Gambhir Patel said such surgeries usually cost ₹40,000–₹50,000 in private hospitals, but the operation was performed free of charge at the district hospital.
A Step Forward in Public Healthcare
These successful surgeries highlight the growing capabilities of district hospitals and reflect a major step forward in strengthening public healthcare. With skilled doctors and modern technology, Harda District Hospital is now providing advanced medical care that was once available only in large urban centres—bringing quality healthcare closer to the people.
