SP MLA Faheem Irfan Cycles Through Villages to Raise SIR Awareness; Swatantra Dev Singh Had Earlier Challenged Him on Wife’s Oath

Muradabad: Haji Mohammed Faheem Irfan, Samajwadi Party MLA from Bilari, Muradabad, is on a unique campaign to raise awareness about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Uttar Pradesh. Cycling through villages, he has been reaching out door-to-door to educate residents about SIR and guide them on submitting their forms before the December 9 deadline.

Village Outreach on SIR

During his campaign, MLA Faheem Irfan visited Shahpur village, starting from polling booths where he reviewed the progress of SIR forms with BLOs and BLAs. BLO KP Singh confirmed that all forms had been distributed and retrieval from voters was underway.

The MLA personally cycled through homes, explaining the importance of the SIR process and urging residents to submit completed forms to BLOs. He also advised that if voters face any difficulty, they should report it to the BLA, and if unresolved, contact the camp office or call for assistance to ensure timely resolution.

Earlier Assembly Incident

This year, Faheem Irfan was in the spotlight during the Monsoon Session of the UP Assembly. He had raised concerns over villages not receiving proper water supply. The matter escalated when UP Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh challenged him to swear on his wife’s name regarding the issue. Irfan boldly responded that water was indeed not reaching several villages and even challenged the minister to choose any district in western UP to verify the truth, stating that if proven otherwise, he would resign.

Background

A law graduate from KGK College, Muradabad, Faheem is considered one of the sharp and dynamic leaders of the Samajwadi Party. In the 2022 elections, he defeated BJP’s Parmeshwar Lal Saini in a closely contested battle.
