Sow Babool, You Won’t Get Mangoes’: Uddhav Camp Mocks Eknath Shinde Amid Growing Rift; Congress Joins the Jibe

Mumbai: Political turbulence has intensified in Maharashtra as reports of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s displeasure with the BJP continue to gain traction. The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) have both taken sharp digs at Shinde, claiming that he has now become increasingly isolated within the Mahayuti alliance.

Uddhav Camp’s Sharp Attack

Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey launched a scathing attack, remarking with a proverb: “If you sow a babool tree, you cannot expect mangoes.”
He alleged that Shinde, who once joined hands with the BJP to break the original Shiv Sena, is now facing the consequences of his own actions.

Dubey claimed that the recent Maharashtra Cabinet meeting — where several leaders from Shinde’s faction were reportedly absent — clearly indicates growing internal conflict.
According to him, “Nothing is running smoothly within their camp anymore. A clear split is visible.”

Mention of Srikant Shinde’s Seat

Dubey further pointed to BJP’s activities in Kalyan-Dombivli, the Lok Sabha constituency of Shinde’s son Srikant Shinde. He alleged that state BJP president Ravindra Chavan has been actively inducting Shiv Sena workers into the BJP, signaling distrust and internal rivalry.

‘Shinde Camp May Split Soon’

The UBT leader claimed that a major split is imminent within Shinde’s Shiv Sena, with several leaders already in touch with Uddhav Thackeray’s camp.
He added that BJP is exerting “psychological pressure” on Shinde’s faction as central investigative agencies remain under BJP’s control.

Dubey asserted that while some leaders want to return to the UBT fold, their “loyalty and purity” are being assessed because many were “defectors in the past.”

He predicted chaos within the Mahayuti ahead of the December 2 municipal elections, adding, “As you sow, so shall you reap. Their crisis will only worsen in the coming days.”

Congress Also Takes a Swipe

Maharashtra Congress president Harshavardhan Sapkal joined the political mockery, saying the Mahayuti government has turned into a “gangwar zone.”

He remarked,
“This is a triple-engine government. One deputy CM (Shinde) disappears into some remote village in Satara, while another goes missing elsewhere. If Shinde is truly upset and nothing concrete is being done, he should resign. But since he cannot stay without power, he will quietly endure every humiliation from Devendra Fadnavis.”

Sapkal also suggested that Shinde’s grievances are unlikely to bring any major change within the alliance.
