Soldier Posted in Jammu & Kashmir Shares Ordeal: Accuses Wife and In-Laws of Harassment, Appeals to CM for Help

UP News, Budaun:
A heartbreaking video of Anil Gaur, an Indian Army soldier from Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district, has gone viral on social media. In the video, the soldier—currently posted in a sensitive zone of Jammu & Kashmir—breaks down as he alleges severe mental harassment by his wife, Renu Sharma, and her family, claiming that he has slipped into depression due to continued domestic conflict.

According to Gaur, his wife Renu Sharma, along with Ramjimal and Vinay Sharma, allegedly broke the lock of his mother’s house in Ughaiti, removed paddy and other belongings, and attempted to take illegal possession of the property. Gaur says that despite a written complaint filed by his mother at the Ughaiti police station, no action has been taken so far. He also claims he has been trying to contact the local inspector for days but has received no satisfactory response.

The soldier further alleges that he has survived three to four attempts on his life in recent months. Breaking down in the video, he appeals to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Badaun SSP, seeking justice and protection for his family.

Police Response

Ughaiti Station House Officer (SHO) Awadhesh Kumar said the matter is primarily a marital dispute and has been pending in court for nearly three years. The SHO stated that the soldier’s wife had earlier submitted a complaint to Army authorities, following which she was granted maintenance support.

Regarding the alleged property encroachment, police officials say no court order exists in this matter, and therefore action cannot be taken without legal direction. They added that efforts for mediation and settlement between both sides are underway.

Public Outcry on Social Media

The viral video has triggered widespread debate online, with citizens expressing anger and concern over the mental stress faced by a soldier stationed in a conflict-sensitive area. Many users have questioned the police’s inaction and highlighted the urgent need to address the personal and legal struggles of soldiers serving on the frontlines.
