Rakesh Jain, renowned social worker and founder–president of Bhagwan Mahavir Sewa Sansthan, continues to be recognised for his dedicated service to society. Adding another accolade to his name, he was today felicitated with the ‘Award of Honor’ by the National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (NCSC-DA), Ludhiana Unit, operating under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
The award ceremony was held at Civil Lines, Jain Sthanak, on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The honour was presented by Ashish Kullu (Assistant Director – Appointment), Gopal Krishna (Vocational Instructor – General Mechanic), Kishor Kumar (Career Assistant), and Kulbir Kaur (Vocational Instructor – Computer Applications) from the NCSC-DA team.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Kullu appreciated the continuous support extended by Bhagwan Mahavir Sewa Sansthan. He highlighted that many differently-abled individuals, even after completing government training, are unable to afford the required equipment to start work. “For several years now, Bhagwan Mahavir Sewa Sansthan has been providing all such essential equipment free of cost, enabling these brothers and sisters to become self-reliant. The Government of India expresses gratitude to the institution and hopes that such noble service for needy and underprivileged persons with disabilities continues in the future as well,” he said.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Rakesh Jain (President, Bhagwan Mahavir Sewa Sansthan), Rajesh Jain (Vice President), Sunil Gupta (Joint Secretary), Rama Jain (Executive Member), Gurdev Singh (President Awardee & President, Satguru Ravi Ravidas Welfare and Education Society), Amit Kumar (Punjab Police) and other respected guests.
