Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh: In a major crackdown against corruption, the Lokayukta police in Singrauli have caught a corrupt patwari red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000. The patwari had demanded a total bribe of ₹30,000 for facilitating land mutation and issuing a “pulli” certificate.
According to reports, the patwari, identified as Ambrish Vaishya from Churki village in Dudhmania Tehsil, demanded ₹30,000 from complainant Mahendra Yadav in exchange for completing the land mutation and pulli issuance process. The first installment of ₹10,000 was handed over to the patwari, at which point the Lokayukta team swooped in and arrested him immediately.
The Lokayukta’s swift action followed a formal complaint by Mahendra Yadav. A special ten-member team closely monitored the patwari’s activities and laid a trap to catch him in the act. The bribe transaction was coordinated carefully with the complainant, ensuring the patwari was nabbed with the money in his possession.
