Sidhi: In a horrifying road accident near the Kamreji and Maugunj police station boundaries, a speeding Scorpio collided with a motorcycle, causing a one-and-a-half-year-old boy, Suraj Saket, to be flung into the air and land on the SUV’s roof. Shockingly, the driver did not stop to help the child and instead sped away, covering approximately 10 kilometers before the toddler was rescued.
The accident occurred near Bahera Dabar on Monday evening around 7 PM. The Scorpio struck the motorcycle carrying Umesh Saket and the child’s mother, Munni Saket, both of whom sustained injuries. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the toddler crying atop the moving SUV as the driver continued to accelerate, displaying extreme negligence and a blatant disregard for human life.
Police Action: Upon receiving information, Kamreji police station in-charge, trainee DSP Sujeet Kumar Kadwe, immediately mobilized the team and coordinated with Sidhi Superintendent of Police and the Rewa and Maugunj control rooms to track the vehicle using CCTV footage. Police units from Amilia, Churhat, and Kamreji were dispatched to locate both the vehicle and the child.
After several hours of frantic searching, authorities discovered that an unidentified individual had admitted the child to Hanumana Health Center and fled. Police promptly secured Suraj Saket, who sustained injuries to his head and body and was admitted for treatment. Meanwhile, the injured mother Munni Saket and uncle Umesh Saket are receiving medical care at Sidhi District Hospital. Doctors have confirmed that all three are now in stable condition.
