In a shocking revelation from Shravasti, Uttar Pradesh, police have arrested four individuals, including a lawyer, in connection with a double murder case aimed at illegally taking control of the victim’s shops.
According to Superintendent of Police Rahul Bhati, the accused include Naseeb Khan, Haseeb Khan alias Guddu (sons of the victim Roshan Khan’s first wife), and Musib Khan, the elder son of the victim’s second wife from her first marriage. The fourth accused is lawyer Prabhakar Tripathi alias Rinku Tripathi. All four have been taken into custody and sent to jail.
Police reports reveal that the motive behind the crime was to grab Roshan Khan’s valuable shops in the town of Ikauna. On 4 August 2025, Roshan Khan had legally gifted his shops to his second wife, Vasila, through a registered deed. Minutes later, lawyer Rinku Tripathi allegedly manipulated the process and fraudulently registered the same shops in his own name for just ₹10 lakh. Vasila refused to accept the payment and froze her account to prevent any transfer. She subsequently filed a civil case for cancellation of the fraudulent deed, which is still ongoing in the Shravasti Civil Court.
Further investigation revealed that Tripathi had transferred one of the shops to a third party for ₹70–80 lakh, attempting to cover up the fraud. In order to eliminate the witnesses and secure his scheme, Tripathi reportedly lured Naseeb, Musib, and Haseeb with incentives and orchestrated the murder of Roshan Khan and Vasila.
During police interrogation, the accused admitted that on the night of 22–23 November 2025, they strangled Roshan Khan and Vasila with bamboo sticks while they were asleep, following the instructions of lawyer Tripathi.
The case has sent shockwaves through the town, highlighting the extreme lengths criminals may go to for property disputes and greed-driven violence.
