Shopkeeper Shot at in Lucknow Shopping Complex; Two Suspects Flee

Lucknow, Jan 31:
In a brazen attack in the Uttar Pradesh capital, a shopkeeper was shot by two unidentified men inside a shopping complex in Sushant Golf City late Friday night. Police are investigating the incident and have launched a manhunt for the suspects.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Nipun Agrawal, the incident took place at around 10:15 PM in Shopping Square-2. The injured, identified as Avadhesh Kumar Pathak (60), a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar currently living in Gosain Ganj, was moving goods from his shop in Shopping Square-1 to his car when the two men opened fire, hitting him above his right eye.

Pathak was immediately rushed to Medanta Hospital, where doctors confirmed that his condition is stable and out of danger.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s wife, the Sushant Golf City police have registered a case against the two unidentified assailants. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the complex and surrounding areas, and eight special teams have been formed to crack the case quickly.

Officials said that local residents are being questioned, all angles are being probed, and law and order in the area remains under strict surveillance.
