Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 31: In a shocking incident in the Sushant Golf City area of Lucknow, two unidentified men opened fire at a shopkeeper inside a shopping complex on Friday night, leaving him injured. Police have launched an investigation to track down the culprits.
According to Nipun Agrawal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone), “The incident took place around 10:15 PM at Shopping Square-2, Ansal Sushant Golf City. Information about the shooting was immediately received through our control room, and police teams rushed to the scene.”
The injured shopkeeper was promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. Authorities have confirmed that the victim’s condition is stable, but investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack.
Police sources said that the suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting, and surveillance footage from the shopping complex is being examined to identify them. Officers are also questioning witnesses in the area and reviewing nearby CCTV cameras to gather clues.
The incident has raised concerns about security measures in commercial areas, particularly late at night, and police have assured the public that every possible effort is being made to apprehend the assailants.
DCP Agrawal added, “We are treating this case with utmost priority. Our teams are working round the clock to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice as soon as possible.”
