Bhilwara, Rajasthan: A sensational crime has come to light in the Kareda area of Bhilwara district, shaking the local community. A wife, in collusion with her lover, brutally strangled her husband to death and concealed the body in field bushes. Police, investigating the case as a “blind murder,” have arrested both the wife and her accomplice.
Mystery Begins with a Missing Husband
The incident began on the evening of December 23. Victim Jagdish Kumawat had gone to his field for routine crop supervision but did not return home by late night, raising concerns among his family. When Jagdish’s father Mangilal inquired with his daughter-in-law Laxmi Devi, she feigned ignorance, claiming she had no information and added that Jagdish’s phone was switched off.
The next day, Jagdish’s motorcycle was found abandoned on the roadside. Following this, family members discovered his lifeless body hidden behind bushes near a well in the fields.
Affair Turns Deadly
Under the leadership of Kareda police station in-charge Munni Ram, the police investigation quickly zeroed in on Laxmi Devi. Intense questioning revealed that she had been involved in a long-term illicit relationship with Gopal Kumawat, a man from her community. Jagdish had discovered the affair and had become an obstacle in their relationship. To remove this obstacle, Laxmi and Gopal conspired to murder him. On the night of December 23, they strangled Jagdish to death and hid the body in nearby bushes to destroy evidence.
