A horrific tragedy has shaken the residents of Jobedah village in the Babhni police station area of Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh. On Wednesday night, a 28-year-old mother threw her 10-month-old infant into a burning stove, killing him instantly, and subsequently took her own life by hanging herself with a saree. The gruesome incident left the entire village in shock and mourning.

Incident Details

The deceased mother, Rajpati, wife of Patiraj and a resident of Dhangerpani, Basantpur, Chhattisgarh, had visited her maternal home in Jobedah earlier that day. After the family had finished dinner and gone to sleep, Rajpati took her younger 10-month-old son into a separate room, while her elder child went to another room to sleep with his maternal uncle.

At some point during the night, Rajpati placed her infant son into the burning stove, killing him, and later hanged herself in the house using a saree. The next morning, when the family discovered the scene, they were horrified to find the mother hanging and the infant’s charred remains in the stove, plunging the household into grief and panic.
