Shocking in Morena: 1-Year-Old Accused of Mobile Theft, Gunmen Open Fire at Family Home

Morena, Madhya Pradesh: In a bizarre and alarming incident in Morena district, a one-year-old girl was accused of stealing a mobile phone, prompting local goons to open fire at her family’s home. The victim’s family has lodged a complaint with the police, who have now begun an investigation.

Incident in Badgaon Navli Village
The incident occurred in Badgaon Navli village. Bhura Tomar, the child’s father, stated that on January 8, Abhishek Tomar and Chotu Tomar, along with their associates, opened fire at his home, alleging that Bhura’s daughter had stolen a mobile phone. “My daughter is barely able to stand; how could she possibly commit theft?” Bhura said.

Underlying Land Dispute
According to Bhura, the attack stemmed from an old land dispute with Abhishek Tomar. Although the dispute had been settled and the land was in Bhura’s possession, Abhishek allegedly used the mobile theft allegation as a pretext for revenge. Bhura added that when he went to Dimni police station to file a complaint, the officers refused to register it, citing that the complaint concerned a minor child. He subsequently submitted a formal application to the Superintendent of Police’s office.

Police Statement
Police have confirmed that a public hearing (Jan Sunwai) was held regarding the matter. “The parties have a history of land disputes and personal enmity. As for the allegation against the infant, at first glance, it appears implausible. Nevertheless, a thorough investigation is underway,” a police official said.

This shocking case highlights the extreme misuse of accusations and the escalating tension over local disputes in rural areas.
