A spine-chilling incident from Shahpur Patoree in Samastipur district has shaken the entire region. Two newborn babies were found dead in a partially burnt state on a roadside garbage heap. CCTV footage has revealed the horrifying act carried out by an unidentified man, leaving the community stunned and enraged.

CCTV Shows the Brutality

Authorities examined nearby CCTV cameras, and what emerged was deeply disturbing. The footage shows a man approaching the garbage pile where the newborns had been discarded. He then uses a lighter to set the infants on fire. Though the flames extinguished quickly due to cold and dew, the act was enough to kill the helpless babies.

Residents say the harsh cold weather had already put the infants’ lives in danger, but the deliberate act of burning them was an unspeakable crime that has shaken everyone to the core.

Bodies Spotted Early in the Morning

Local people out for their morning routine noticed the charred remains at dawn. Shocked and horrified, they immediately informed the police. But shockingly, despite the crime scene being just one kilometer from the local police station, officers were completely unaware of the incident until residents raised the alarm.

In order to preserve evidence, locals covered the bodies with garbage to prevent tampering while waiting for authorities.

Initial suspicion suggests that someone may have abandoned the newborns after birth and later attempted to destroy evidence by setting them on fire. Authorities are also investigating whether any illegal nursing home in the area may be involved in the incident, given reports of similar past activities.

Police and Health Officials Respond

DSP B.K. Medhavi claimed he had no prior information about the case. Dr. Amitabh Ranjan, Superintendent of the Shahpur Patoree Sub-Divisional Hospital, stated that he was also informed late. He confirmed that a probe will be initiated against illegal nursing homes operating in the area.
