Shocking Bus Heist: Haryana Roadways Vehicle Stolen from Rajasthan, Chased 40 km Before Abandonment

Hisar/Bhadra: In a sensational incident, a Haryana Roadways bus from Hisar Depot was stolen from Bhadra Bus Stand in Rajasthan and driven recklessly for nearly 40 kilometers before being abandoned in the Hisar district’s Rawalwas village. CCTV footage of the daring theft has surfaced, revealing the audacity of the culprit.

Reckless Driving Causes Damage

According to police reports, the thief drove the bus at high speed, colliding with several obstacles along the route. The bus struck an electric pole, damaging the pole and a connected meter. Alarmed by the damage, the thief abandoned the bus and fled the scene. Two CCTV clips, lasting 31 and 37 seconds respectively, capture portions of the incident, including the bus hitting a roadside cart. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

Police Trace the Bus Using CCTV

Following the footage, Rajasthan Police intensified their investigation, reviewing recordings from nearby cameras. CCTV at the Amarpura Toll Plaza confirmed the stolen bus was heading toward Haryana, enabling authorities to track it. The vehicle has now been recovered and is under police custody.

Investigation Underway

Police suspect the thief may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the theft. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect. Meanwhile, the Hisar Roadways administration arranged a replacement bus on the affected route to ensure minimal disruption for passengers. Authorities have stated that further legal action will follow after the investigation is completed.
