
Ranchi, Jharkhand: A shocking incident rocked Guyu village in the Karra police jurisdiction of Khunti district on Sunday evening, as unknown assailants shot dead 25-year-old Sumit Tigga, the Tribal Congress Block General Secretary. The brutal killing has left the local community in deep shock and anger.
Well-Known Social Activist
Sumit Tigga, son of Temba Tigga and a resident of Guyu village, was unmarried and actively involved in the Tribal Congress organization. Known as a vibrant and socially committed young leader, he had earned a good reputation in his village and surrounding areas for his organizational work and participation in social initiatives.
Details of the Shooting
According to reports, Tigga was at home on Sunday evening when two of his acquaintances called him to a village gathering. Around 6:30 PM, he went with them and sat by a bonfire. At approximately 8 PM, an unidentified person shot him from behind. Tigga was critically injured and collapsed on the ground, while the assailant fled the scene immediately.
Investigation Underway
Local villagers rushed to the site after hearing the gunshot. Tigga’s family was informed, and he was rushed to Devanika Hospital in Ranchi for treatment. However, doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The Karra police reached the scene promptly, began a detailed investigation, and have sent the body to RIMS, Ranchi for post-mortem. Authorities are examining all possible motives and questioning locals to identify the perpetrators.
Local leaders and party workers have strongly condemned the murder and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Police have assured that the investigation is ongoing and that the responsible individuals will be brought to justice soon.
