Shivraj Singh Chauhan Says Praising One’s Wife Requires Courage, Promises to Write a Book

Bikaner, Rajasthan: Known for his wit and humorous style, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan lightened the mood at a mass marriage event in Bikaner with a playful remark about praising one’s spouse. Speaking on stage, he said that praising a wife requires courage and announced that he too would write a book about his wife.

The statement came as Chauhan was lauding the book of Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, titled Ek Safar Humsafar Ke Saath, which Meghwal dedicated to his wife. Chauhan praised Meghwal’s boldness, saying, “I consider the book written by Bhabhi Ji a remarkable achievement. Very few people have the courage to openly praise their wives, otherwise, people say they are henpecked.”

Inspired by Meghwal’s example, Chauhan added with a smile, “Now I too feel motivated to write a book. Truly, a wife’s contribution to life is immense.”

Chauhan’s humorous and candid remarks drew applause and laughter from the audience, highlighting his signature style of combining wit with personal reflection.
