Shivpuri Woman and Children Abducted; Police Say Husband Behind Incident

Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, January 14, 2026: A sensational incident has unfolded in Shivpuri district after a woman and her two children were reportedly abducted near a temple in the Narwar police station area. CCTV footage of the incident triggered widespread concern, prompting immediate action from the local police.

Husband Identified as Alleged Abductor

After several hours of investigation, police confirmed that the person who took the woman and her children is her husband. Authorities have launched a search operation, but as of now, there is no trace of the woman and her children. Police teams are conducting searches at all known locations associated with the husband.

Background of the Family

The woman, Parvati Jatav, a resident of Narwar, had been living separately from her husband Jagannath (Jagat) Singh Jatav of Mangrauni for the past six years due to domestic disputes. Parvati had accused her husband and in-laws of dowry harassment and had returned to her parental home in Narwar with their two children, where she has been raising and educating them.

Abduction Incident

The incident occurred when Parvati was returning from school with her children. A car reportedly pulled up behind them, and three men emerged, forcibly taking her and the children into the vehicle. Initial reports suggested a general kidnapping, but police later confirmed the involvement of her husband.

Ongoing Investigation

Police visited Jagannath Jatav’s residence in Mangrauni but could not locate him. The motive behind the abduction remains unclear. Authorities noted that no formal complaint has yet been filed by the woman’s relatives. Police continue to investigate and are searching all possible locations to trace the family.
