Shivpuri Businessman Trapped in Honeytrap; Woman, Five Accomplices Extort Rs 1.05 Lakh

Shivpuri | February 3: A grain trader in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, fell victim to a honeytrap orchestrated by a woman and her accomplices, who extorted Rs 1.05 lakh from him. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

According to the complaint filed at Dehat Police Station, 26-year-old Aditya Jain was lured into the trap by a woman who introduced herself as Anjali. She initially struck up a friendship over the phone and invited him to meet on January 31 near a water tank in Badodi. Accompanied by his driver Vinod Rathore, Jain arrived in a rented car, where the woman entered his vehicle.

She then led them to a hotel near Madhav Chowk and later, on Badagaon Road about 3 km ahead, summoned five men to join her. The group allegedly assaulted Jain and his driver, and coerced Jain into making a fake video falsely implicating him in misconduct with the woman.

The woman and her accomplices then demanded Rs 2 lakh, threatening to make the video public and file a false rape complaint. Out of fear, Jain sent Rs 80,000 via PhonePe through a friend, Rs 20,000 from another contact, and an additional Rs 5,640 from his own PhonePe account. The group continued to threaten him before eventually fleeing after dropping him and his driver on the Jhansi Four-Lane road.

Police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused, while the investigation continues.
